A Few Pics from the Garden

Welcome back!  It's been a little hot during the day so most of my work in the garden is done early in the day.  Today we have a high of 94 degrees.  Yikes!

First thing this morning I fed the chickens, replaced their water and collected eggs.  This is about 2 days worth of eggs.  It's a good thing we like eggs!

This is a bed of Cocozelle Zucchini with Borage and Blue Lake Bush beans.  The bees are all over the garden this year!

I planted another variety of Heirloom Corn this morning.  Glass Gem Corn is a colorful variety that's done really well in previous years.

I'll be harvesting onion seeds this evening from this bloom.  Seed saving is a great way to preserve heirloom seed varieties.  As a homesteader, seed saving is a great way to save money for future planting.

I was able to use my new Joey Apron this morning.  It makes gardening and harvesting so much easier.  It's awesome!

After working in the garden I had to take a break.  JoJo loves to snuggle so we sat together for a few minutes.  Eventually he gets bored and finds something to play with.

I have a few tutorials I'm working on and favorite recipes.  See ya next time!
